Actually, the Thomas the train chopsticks are for my friend's boys' birthdays. My daughters have been using them for about 6 months now. I have the Petty pink ones for my just turned two year old and on the first day she could eat half her meal with them.
My older daughter at 4.5 y.o. could eat 70% of her meal successfully on the first try without too much effort like other 'training chopsticks' we have tried. She has the ones that are for 5-7 y.o. without a character on top. I got left/right for my younger to see if she has a preference since it is not clear yet.
What is great about them is that they teach proper technique and don't allow for bad chopstick habits to form. It is good for manual dexterity and even the preschool teacher wanted some for the kids to use on an activity table.
I searched the globe for these Thomas ones and my friends boys will be SO happy I am sure.

Found your website after doing a search for children's chopsticks on Google.com.au. Bought 2 pairs of chopsticks for a 6 year old and 2 year old. Both children are loving them and using them with ease. In fact, they ate a roast dinner last night with them!!!

My youngest grandchild, Gaby - was very excited to receive her smartstix ... and was using it to eat her "rice bubbles".... needless to say Mummy had to stand firm and insist on a spoon for the cereal ! I received a lovely call yesterday morning. My very excited 3 year old grandson said thank you for his chopsticks and wanted to know when they were having sushi and fried rice!!! My daughter-in-law said he straight away picked up the knack of using them on bigger items and was starting on his breakfast "flakes". Not sure how that went, but I am sure he will master them well.
My 13 month old granddaughter was trying to master the spoon. I am so pleased to have discovered the SmartStix ad!

My daughter (almost 5) used the Edison Chopsticks a few times and then progressed to normal chopsticks after that! She was made interested in using chopsticks with the Edison and then I think the Edison showed her the right grip which made her progress so quickly to real chopsticks.
